She is a founding member of the magazine Ballet International/Tanz Aktuell and has worked as free-lancer for cultural publications and radio- and television programs. In 2000, Claudia Assmann joined the Jewish Museum Berlin as Senior Writer for the permanent exhibition "2,000 Years of German-Jewish History." From 2001 to 2003, she was press officer at the Schaubühne. After that, she became part of the management team and Head of Press and PR the Theater Heilbronn. Back in Berlin, she worked for the German Federal Government's Art and Cultural Program for the FIFA World Cup 2006. As a member of the Federal Association of University Communications, she has focused on the question of how digital developments and the associated transformation of the media are changing press- and PR- work at universities and cultural institutions.
